Our Day at the beach

We went to the beach yesterday to clear our heads (since we still haven't closed on the house). We had a really nice time. The weather was just right and the water was a little cold, but the boys didn't seem to mind. They sat in the water and let the waves crash on them. We walked a long way, and Bob found a cool shell, about the length of my hand. Of course I brought it home. I made some shell creations (boys' names out of shells). I want to print them out, frame them and put them in their rooms. Enjoy the pictures!

Fall Activities

We've been having a fun fall, trying to keep ourselves busy while waiting for the closing on our house. That's right, we still haven't closed on our house. We sold our house in Orange Park, are living in the house my parents own in Orange Park, and are eagerly awaiting our closing in Ocala. We're told it will happen within the next week.

We went to Conner's A-Maize-ing Acres a couple weeks ago. Here are some pictures:

Here are a couple pictures from another of Alexander's soccer games. In this picture, he and Lily were making silly faces at each other while on the field (the ball was not in play):

And here's what you've been waiting for, their Halloween costumes. Alexander is a police officer and since they didn't have the same costume in Glenn's size, he is on the SWAT team (didn't want to wear the helmet because he was afraid it would mess up his hair):

Alexander's First Soccer Game

Alexander had his first soccer game this morning. We were at the field bright and early at 8:30. My kids were up, so I didn't really complain. And it was nice and cool out, too. They practiced for a while and then they had what was supposed to be a quick game of 4 minute quarters. However, it's very difficult to keep three players on the field at all times. They have other ideas in their heads. :) The best move was when they kicked it out of bounds and kept going with it into the trees. It was hilarious! Alexander was tired out by the time they played the game. But he had his moments where he got excited about the game. Sometimes it looked more like he was dancing rather than running. It was cute! Here are some pictures:

In action with a teammate:

When he didn't want to play, he found other things to do, like putting his arm inside his shirt...

...and chewing his nails:

And here is what they were all playing for- muffins!

We have a contract on a house in Ocala

I just realized I haven't posted about the house we are buying. We found a nice home in Ocala. It was built in 1989, but remodeled in the past two years. We're very excited about it! It of course has a pool- it's one of the salt water pools, so very low maintenance. I'm looking forward to being able to swim after the boys go to bed. I will post pictures when we move in. We don't have a closing date, yet, but we are hoping for the end of the month. We had the inspection on the house today and it checked out well with only a couple minor repairs. Our house in Orange Park is well on it's way to the closing in three weeks- I need more boxes!

Alexander's First Soccer Practice

We signed Alexander up for soccer (Acorn league). His first practice was on Monday and it was hilarious. It only lasted a half hour, but that's more than they had an attention span for. Kids ran in different directions, couldn't keep their hands off the ball, and Alexander constantly came to us to get water. He loved it! And he fell asleep instantly that night and actually took a nap the next day. Enjoy the pictures!

With the coaches, couldn't wait to get started:

Instead of kicking the ball and keeping his hands on his head, he put the ball on his head:

He does occasionally kick the ball and does it well:
