We had a wonderful vacation last week, even though Glenn was sick at the beginning. On Wednesday through Saturday, we went to a park every morning for about 3 hours, then we went back for a nap. On our anniversary (9 years), which was Thursday, we went to Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot (good, but expensive) then took two "space trains" (the monorail) to Magic Kingdom to see the Spectromagic light parade and fireworks. Alexander actually liked the parade this time (last fall, he cried the whole time). He did not like the fireworks, not because they were too loud, but he didn't like how it got bright suddenly. So, I had to walk elsewhere so he couldn't see them.

Instead of making a slide show like I usually do when we go on a trip, I'm posting the pictures individually so that I can explain them. So, then the kids won't just be cute, but you'll actually know what was going on.

But before I get to our vacation photos, I neglected show before and after pictures of Alexander's haircut. Just before we went on vacation, I gave him a bath. Afterward, I was combing his hair and noticed how long it was in the back. So, I brought out the scissors and cut the back and around his ears. We're still not quite ready for him to have a short haircut. I'll probably bring him to a kids' barber before my sister's wedding next month to trim it up a little, but then the next haircut he'll get will be a buzz cut.

And now for the vacation photos. The first couple don't have our family in them, but I had never seen the Magic Kingdom decorated for fall before, so I took a couple pictures:

Alexander fell asleep waiting for Glenn and I on a ride. I was surprised, because he usually will only fall asleep in bed or in the car.

Bob took some video on his cell phone while on some rides:

Alexander likes to say no and shake his head whenever we ask him a question. Bob took some video of us asking him some questions.

Poor Glenn seems to get more nightmares when we come back from being away. It happened the last week we were in in CT and continued when we came home this summer. And then he woke up 5 times last night crying. Bob gave him a band-aid on his leg the last time, and he finally slept the rest of the night. Band-aids are so magical! Hopefully he'll sleep better tonight. Alexander is of course back to his normal schedule.

We went to the Magic Kingdom this morning for a few hours. Glenn did fine; even though he still has some congestion, he's got his energy back. We went on the Snow White ride, which wasn't a good idea because it scared both boys. Alexander clung to Bob the whole way and cried a little near the end. I felt so bad. Glenn just kept saying things were scary and held my hand tightly. But Glenn loved riding the fast rides. And it was easy getting on the rides. There were a lot of people there with kids our sons' ages, but not really any with school age kids. So the lines for the rides where he just passes the height requirement were short. After a long nap this afternoon, we went to dinner and then had ice cream at Ghiradelli at Disney Marketplace. We also snapped this picture of Alexander trying on Mickey ears (you can see Glenn playing in the background with the snow globe we bought him):

I am finally posting a picture from Glenn's first soccer game a week and a half ago. This was him running after the other players. He wasn't necessarily going for the ball, but he had fun.

We missed last week's game because he came down with a fever that morning. Now we're in Orlando for a week. He didn't have a fever today, but it did elevate by the end of the day. He says he feels better, but his eyes don't look better.

Alexander is being cute. He says "nigh-nigh" for night-night. He says it so sweetly.

We're hoping to be able to get out a little bit tomorrow, just to the outlets down the street and see how Glenn does.

It's been a while since I posted last. Glenn has been loving school and for the past two weeks has been taking a school bus home. It's the highlight of his day. I still walk him to school. He just started soccer practice yesterday. Here are some pictures:

Way to spread out, guys! :)

We have his first game tomorrow. It will be very interesting since only the coaches son knows what he's doing. The rest haven't a clue. It's hilarious to watch. Glenn's exciting. He kept asking if he was going to soccer soon tonight. He'd like to do it every night.

Here's a picture of the boys. I didn't stage it. They did this all by themselves. They love each other.

Alexander loves his school bus toy. He thinks it's a ride. I have the same type of picture when Glenn was his age.

I've been very busy with my business. I sold 4 bags in the past two weeks! Yay! I have a lot of interest in people buying things for Christmas. So, I could be really busy this fall. It's exciting. I am off for a Mom's night out for dinner and a little bunko (a dice game for those of you who don't know what bunko is... I had never heard of it before moving here).

Relaunching of my website

Bob has completely redone my Laurie's Custom Creation's website. It looks much more professional, and flows well. I have also added a new beach bag/work tote (I have another fabric I'm going to make it in soon), and we launched my new baby boutique line. There are a lot of fun things on there and I'll be adding even more items as I make them. I'm trying to make a variety of items before people start shopping for Christmas. Feel free to share my website with anyone you think might be interested in it.
