So, it's been a month since I last posted- Sorry! There wasn't really anything to report, and then we were away for 2 weeks. Bob had to do some training in CT for 2 weeks, so Glenn and I went with him. We stayed with Bob's family on the weekends and my parents during the week. It was a really nice visit, but 2 weeks is a long time to be away from home. Glenn and I caught a cold while we were there, of course. I had my birthday on Easter while we were up there. Apparently Easter won't be on my birthday for 200 more years, so that was special. We drove to CT, and made it in one day. We thought we were going to do it in 2 days on the way home, but we got to South Carolina around 5, so we decided we might as well just drive home. We got home at 10:45, so that wasn't too bad. But we were pretty tired today. Of course Glenn woke up at his usual 6:45. He's so resilient.
When I get around to uploading my pictures from our trip, I'll post some.

Cat in the Hat
Glenn had a great school day on Friday. He even smiled when it was time to drop him off (instead of crying like he did the 3 days previously). When they came out at the end of their day, all the kids had something on their heads. All the moms were looking at each other trying to figure out what they were wearing. Apparently it was Dr. Seuss's birthday, and the Cat in the Hat paid a visit to Glenn's classroom. They wore these hats in celebration of the birthday. Glenn loved his hat so much that he wore it home, and after his nap, he wore it to the playground. He got a lot of smiles.

First Day of School
Glenn had his first day of school today. The only screaming this morning was when we had to take his backpack off his back to get into the car- he loves his backpack. He was a little clingy when we brought him to the teacher's assistant, but she picked him up and we said good-bye. We both went to pick him up, too. They saw us drive up (they were playing outside) and the assistant came over and said Glenn would sleep very well this afternoon. He did cry a little off and on through the morning, but I'm sure he was a little overwhelmed with everything new going on. She did say that lunch and recess was his favorite time of the day and that he socialized well with the other kids. He talked all the way home and I think he was trying to tell us about his day. He had a snack and then slept for 2 and half hours. I had to wake him up. Usually he gets right out of bed from his nap, but not today. He's excited to go again tomorrow. And tomorrow he'll start both his speech and occupational therapy.
Here's a picture of him ready to go to school this morning:

A bunch of sickies!
Glenn has not started preschool yet (he was supposed to start on Tuesday). He has had a fever since Saturday night last weekend. The pediatrician's office said it's a flu-like virus. Today is his first day without a fever. So, he should be able to start school on Monday. I got sick from him and was in bed all day on Wednesday. I don't have a fever anymore, either, but we both still have runny noses and a bad cough.
My parents came down from CT this week. They arrived on Sunday and my mom ended up in a clinic on Monday. Whatever she had, she's passed onto my dad, who is now fighting it. So, everyone was sick in our house this week except Bob and the dogs. Even though everyone was sick, we still had a really nice visit with my parents. Unfortunately they didn't get to do any sight-seeing while down here since they weren't feeling well. They just left this morning.
In other news, we got our fence put up in our backyard. It is black aluminum, so we can still see the water through it. It really finished off our yard nicely. Here's a picture Bob took that he set up as a joke for his boss as his outdoor office.

Glenn and I visited his classroom today. He is going to love preschool. They were sitting on the floor when we got there reading each other's names off of cards the teacher held. I was amazed that most of the kids knew all of the kids' names. There will be 16 in the class when Glenn joins. He's going to have a lot to learn about how to follow the instructions of the teacher in a classroom, but I'm sure he'll get the hang of it quickly. I'm happy for him that not only is he going to learn so much, but he's going to have so much fun. It was organized chaos, but what can you excpect with a classroom of 3 year olds. The teacher would do something for 5 minutes and then move on to something else. The class is made up of mostly boys. And one boy said right away that Glenn could next to him, while a little girl whispered "hi, Glenn" to him. He'll make friends easily. :)
