Potty Trouble

A couple nights ago, Bob got Glenn dressed for bed and was sure he put a diaper on him. When Glenn got up in the morning, he had underwear on with his pj shorts on over it. He did make it through the night without and accident, but of course as soon as he got out of bed had an accident.

The next night, Glenn was supposed to be going to sleep, but I heard some noise in his room. He had taken off his diaper because it was apparently wet. He was trying to put on a clean diaper by himself. I asked him where his dirty diaper was and he pointed to his diaper champ.

Today, he had been having some quiet time in his room, and I heard him say potty and yucky. I went to his room and he had taken off his dry diaper, because he apparently knew he needed to potty. But he pointed on the floor because he went all over the floor. It looked as though he started in one spot and then started walking to his door. It was all over. I think he didn't know what to do. Poor kid.

At least he's getting the idea that he needs take off the diaper. He just needs to tell me before he takes the diaper off so I can get him to the toilet. We'll keep trying.

Fishing

Glenn loved to stand out by his dad while fishing. He would pull up a weed, bend it, and pretend it was a fishing pole. He'd bend it so he'd have fishing line going down. So, I bought him a fishing pole (Dora, of course). He loves it. The funny thing is that Glenn almost caught 2 large fish, even though he doesn't have a hook, while his dad didn't catch anything. Glenn's pole came with a fish shaped weight that's pink to practice casting. The fish were following it as Glenn reeled it in. Here are some pictures of the first time he used it. Note he chose to wear boots. :)

Poor Glenn got kicked in the mouth this morning at school. We got a call that they were rolling around on the floor and someone's foot struck his mouth accidently. He would have been fine to stay at school, but when there's a good amount of blood, they require the parent to come check on the child. It just bled a lot because it was the inside of his lip that split open. He'll be fine. I asked him if he wanted to stay at school or go home, and he started tearing up, so we just decided to bring him home. He had a rough morning. First he rubbed sun block in his eyes so I had to flush them out (he actually liked that and wanted me to continue doing it). Then I made him give me his sunglasses when we got to school. That didn't go over well and apparently he was so upset about it that he hardly ate his snack. Then after getting kicked in the mouth, I figured he just needed to go home- he'd had enough.

On the lighter side, I have a funny story about Bob. The other night he took a sleeping pill. He sometimes gets a little silly when he takes those. At one point when I was trying to fall asleep, he looked in my direction and said, "It's all pink over there." I asked him what he meant and he said, "you know, pinky." I attributed it to the meds, and then about a minute later, under his breath, he said, "Girl power." It was so funny. He had no recolection of it in the morning.

Computer Crash

So, I was doing the right thing by having an antivirus software on my computer. It did an update on Monday and required a reboot. When I did that, it wouldn't restart, but said that a system file required for booting the computer was either corrupt or missing. I tried to do the fix (by looking up what to do on the Internet- on Bob's computer of course), but it didn't work. I talked to a computer repair guy yesterday and he said if that fix didn't work, then what he would do is to reinstall Windows. So, I did that and of course that reformats the hard drive. So, I've lost everything. We have a backup drive on the computer, but the backup file is corrupt and it stopped backing up for some reason in May of last year anyway. So, if you're reading this, please email me so I have your email address, and also email me your mailing address. I lost all my pictures from 9/06 to 8/07. Luckily I didn't delete the pictures on my new camera that I got last August, so I think I still have all those pictures. I keep thinking of things I lost, like all the edited videos of Glenn (at least I have the unedited versions on tape). I don't have the disks for a lot of the software, and I'm sure I keep remembering other things that are gone.

Other than that, things are going well. My blood counts have been pretty good, and the baby is growing well. He keeps me up when I'm trying to nap. Glenn hasn't been napping much in the past few weeks, although he did nap Tuesday and Wednesday this week (which was such a treat since that's when I like to nap, too, when he gets home from school). The weather is wonderful here. It's been in the upper 70's pretty much every day since Friday, and no rain. I'm so used to spring being the rainy season, but our rainy season is in the fall here. Bob's going to be doing a ton of travel for work between now and 3 weeks prior to my due date. I told him no travel starting June 16 so that he doesn't miss the birth. I'm seeing my OB every other week, and starting in May, I'll be seeing the high risk OB (perinatologist) once a week. Oh what fun! But at least on those weekly appts, I get an ultrasound, so I get to see the baby. We're going to have a whole collection of ultrasounds on DVD. :)

Glenn visited his grandmother's 1st grade class while in CT. When the kids went to their desks, Glenn wanted to go to a desk, too. Luckily she had one empty desk. Notice his feet don't even come close to touching the ground:
