Alexander slept better last night, only getting up for 3 feedings past midnight. Bob and I appreciated the much needed rest. He had his 4 day check-up this morning. He weighed 8 lb, 3 oz when we left the hospital, and was 8 lb, 7 oz this morning. So, it goes to show he's eating very well. I could see he's gained a little more pudge back in his face, so I knew he would be heavier than when we left the hospital. His color is also very good, so they aren't worried about jaundice at all. So, we're all taking a lot of naps today to help catch up on our sleep. Glenn and Nana went to the pool this morning, so Glenn is zonked out now, too. I guess I should go take a nap while I can, too.

We're Home

We came home yesterday late afternoon. Glenn and Nana had made a welcome home sign for Alexander and it was on the front door. Glenn was so amazed to see his baby brother. He sat on my lap looking at him and saying cute and cool over and over. When he cries, Glenn says Awe in the cutest way and tells him he's okay. It's adorable. We have some pictures of our home coming, but they are still on the camera.

Alexander is nursing well. He decided during the night that he was hungry every hour until 3:30 last night. So, that was tough, but then he let us get 2 hours of sleep before waking us again. So, we're working on making him not be nocturnal. I've been feeling pretty well except for getting headaches. Hopefully they'll stop soon.

If anyone wants to hear more about the birth, email me and I send you more detail. But I'm sure that everyone who reads this doesn't really want to hear all that detail. :)

He's Here!

Alexander Kennedy DeChello was born at 6:02 pm today. He's 8 lbs, 12 oz. and his length is 20 and 1/4 inches. He's in the nursery getting a bath and warming up, and they'll measure him there. And then he'll come back to us. The induction went well. From the time they started the pitocin to the time he was born was about 10 hours, so not bad. When it came time to push, it only took one contraction. It was awesome! Both baby and Mommy are doing well. Here are some pictures of our angel.

Just letting everyone know that I did not go into labor last night like Bob thought I would. I've been trying to keep myself busy today so I'm not just sitting around waiting. After dropping Glenn off at school, I did a little grocery shopping. Then I made a cake (I've been craving chocolate cake). As soon as Glenn gets up from his nap, we're going to have a big brother party with the cake. We were going to have a pre-birthday party for the baby, but Glenn so no to that. So, we're going to celebrate that Glenn is going to be a big brother. He thought that was a good idea. We are supposed to be at the hospital at 6:30 tomorrrow morning to get everything started.
