Alexander's Haircut

Alexander had a haircut tonight. It had been in his eyes for a while, and it takes two people to cut it (one to hold him and one to cut it), so I had to wait until Bob was home to do it. Bob trimmed it first, but it looked goofy and would have been in his eyes again in a couple weeks. So, we cut it like Glenn's. He just cried into my shoulder the whole time. When I showed Alexander what he looked like in the mirror, he started crying all over again. I'm so sad his hair doesn't move when he's bouncing through the house. He really looks like Glenn did at that age now with his hair cut the same. This is going to take some getting used to. Here's the before and after shots:

This is all the hair from both boys' haircuts, however most of it is from Alexander. It was a lot of hair:

I realize it's been forever since I posted. Life has been very busy lately. I had a party for my business and did very well. There were at least 10 women at the party and almost everyone placed an order. Unfortunately I wasn't able to start sewing everything right away because we left the next day for CT. My grandmother (my Dad's mom) died. Her birthday would have been tomorrow and she was to be 89 years old (I think). She lived a very long life and I have many fond memories of baking cookies with her and playing cards with her and my grandfather. The boys were a great diversion at the funeral (Alexander laughed after everyone else laugh after hearing a funny memory, which made everyone laugh again).

The day after we returned home, I woke up very sick. I was so sick I ended up passing out and hitting my head on our bathroom tile floor. After a couple of minutes, I came to very confused. I yelled for Bob (thankfully I was home) and his EMT training kicked in and realized I had a concussion. So after talking to my doctor, we went to the ER. We have wonderful friends who watched the boys while I was there, one even picking Glenn up from school for us. Thankfully, my CT was normal and I was able to go home. But I didn't feel well for a whole week.

I finished sewing all my bag party orders in about a week and got them out. I'm planning another party the end of April. Glenn and Bob are away this weekend for a long weekend with his family. They were in CT for a bit and then drove to the Poconos for the weekend for a family reunion. They're having so much fun that when I called this afternoon, Glenn was asleep on Bob's lap in a very loud room. Alexander and I have been having a lot of fun while the boys are away. We have spent time with friends, went to Glenn's school spring carnival (even though Glenn's not here), went shopping with a friend today, and have church and a birthday party tomorrow. He misses his brother and daddy, going to the window and calling for them. Glenn is apparently missing me because he called (when I was out) and wants to come home. They'll come home Monday. It's been kind of strange having just Alexander here. I'm used to Bob traveling, but I'm not used to being here without Glenn.

When Bob has been traveling lately, he brings one of Glenn's small stuffed animals and takes pictures of them doing things through out the day and send them to me to show the boys. Glenn loves it!

I'm sure much more has happened, I just can't think of it all right now. Here are some pictures, and like usual, there are more pictures of Alexander only because I spend more time with him since Glenn's in school.

When we were in CT, it snowed. Glenn and I made a snow man:

The next day brought more snow and Nana pulled Alexander around on the sled:

Alexander likes to take off his pants. It's so funny. This is how he earned his new nickname, Babylegs.

Alexander realized he had pockets last week and could put his hands in his pockets:

I got Alexander some cute clothes this week:

It was 77 degrees this afternoon, so I put on some shorts to show off those cute baby legs:

Alexander's blood test for allergies came back negative. This doesn't mean he does not have any food allergies. It just means that if he still has rashes on his bottom, then we'll test again when he's older. It's very common to get false-negatives in children under 2 years old. So, I just have to keep paying attention to what I'm feeding him and bring him back to the allergist when he gets another rash on his bottom (not diaper rash- a rash like he's touched latex).

Here are some cute pictures of Alexander:

He loves riding this horse and hugging it:

Enjoying his first lollipop- he knew exactly what to do with it. He didn't try to eat it, just sucked on it.

He loves taking off his pants. Sometimes he will just pull them down part way and say "uh, oh" repeatedly. Or he'll walk in the room without his pants and I have to search for them. He likes to touch his legs. I call him Baby Legs when he does this. I like squeezing his cute chubby baby legs, too.

We had some friends over today to make Valentines. We weren't really paying attention to Alexander, until my friend noticed he had a marker, then we noticed the blue lips. I think he did it on his teeth, too. It came off easily. Thank goodness for washable markers.

Glenn's Birthday Party

Glenn had his birthday party with his friends, yesterday. He enjoyed it so much! Here are pictures from the party. He had a Cars movie theme.

I made a Lightning McQueen pinata

I got this wall hanging with the Cars cars on it. We put it up the night before and Glenn was very surprised when he saw it in the morning.

We put out Glenn's race track for the guest to race with. They all loved it.

I finally got Alexander singing on video. When he watches the video, he sings along. He's so sweet.

We are still waiting to hear his results from his allergy blood test. If we don't hear tomorrow, I'm supposed to call on Monday.

Glenn is turning five on Sunday!!! He's having a few friends over on Saturday to celebrate. Then we'll have him open his presents from us on Sunday, and Monday, he celebrates with his class. Then when both sets of grandparents come down next month for a visit, we'll have another party for him. He's excited that he has four birthday parties.
