Merry Christmas!

We have had a fun week, especially since Glenn has already been off from school for a whole week. We did a lot of crafts and went to the park many days. We went to the library, and Glenn has fallen for Madeline books. He was so excited to find a complete collection of all her books within one book. He can even read them, so that makes it more exciting. He reads them to his brother, which is so cute!

Tonight, we went to church and the boys loved that there was a bell choir. Glenn was completely mesmerized by the candles during Silent Night. After church, we went to the town square. They actually had a church service going on in the square, which I though was really nice. We got to hear Christian Christmas carols the whole time we were there. The square is lit up really beautifully. And there's also a ferris wheel that they bring out just for this time of year. So, we went on that and could see all the lights from above while hearing Christmas carols. They also have horse drawn carriages with Christmas lights pulling people around the square. Alexander especially loved the horses. It got a little chilly at the top of the ferris wheel (I know, I shouldn't complain as it was in the upper sixties, but it was really windy up there and I was wearing what I wore to church). While we were in line, Alexander kept saying he was so excited, but he said it quietly. And during the ride, he said he was so happy he was big enough to go on it. Glenn was very excited the whole time on the ride. I think he talked non-stop the whole time. It really was a beautiful night!

Now the boys are in bed, the presents are under the tree, and I think it's time I go to bed, too. Our picture from just before we left for church is below. Merry Christmas!!!

More Pictures of Our New Home

I know many of you have been asking for pictures. So, here they are. Of course we are not done getting it just how we want, but it will take time.

Here is our foyer. I'm excited to have a coat closet (not a common thing in FL).

When you come in the front doors, you walk into the living room. But the breakfast bar looking into the kitchen is directly in front of you (cute boy included).

Here's a view of the kitchen from the living room.

Here is the inside of the kitchen. It's not a big kitchen, but I love cooking in it because everything is within two steps. I find that I am much quicker cooking without and island to walk around. And I love the granite counters and appliances. The sink is huge! I've never heard of a black sink, but it's really pretty.

Off the kitchen (to the left) is the kitchen nook, which is currently our Christmas tree nook. There are two windows there that look into the Florida Room.

Back to when you enter the front doors, off to the left is the dining area. I really don't like the gold window treatments. So, eventually they will be coming down and be replaced by drapes. There is another window to the left of the one you see here that looks onto the front porch.

Here is the view of the family room from the foyer. All our paintings and other large wall decor are still at Bob's office. I have been begging him to bring them home so we can get them up on the walls.

...and another view of the fireplace. The double doors to the right go into the Florida room.

If you pass the kitchen and nook, you will go into the boys' wing of the house. On one side is Alexander's room. Yes, he has almost all his stuffed animals, including the huge horse, in bed with him. Eventually, Bob wants to close off the bottom to make a little club house for him.

Here's another view of Alexander's room. There are even more toys in the closet. We put all the toys in his room since it's a little bigger, so it's the play room, too. We will eventually get him an area rug because those floors are hard.

The boys' bathroom is between their rooms.

Here's Glenn's room. He doesn't have his big cat painting up, yet (still at Daddy's office).

Glenn calls this part of his room his office (just like Mommy and Daddy have an office). The double doors go out to the Florida room, but we needed more wall space, so we put the desk there. Don't worry, he still has another door.

This is the Florida room. On the left is a little wet bar. On the right closest to where I'm standing, you see a door. That goes out to the pool.

Here's the other side of the Florida room. Our TV that we had in the living room in Orange Park didn't make the move so well. It turns itself off when in cable mode. But it still works in DVD mode, so the boys are using this TV to play Wii and watch movies (lucky them). Of course you notice Bob already bought a new TV for the living room.

Passed the dining and living areas is the Master bedroom. This is all I can show you because the other side is still messy. :) And we have a beautiful walk-in closet with organizers on three sides. But I can't show you that because it's Christmas present central right now and I haven't wrapped any presents.

To the left of the last view is the master bath. Here's the tub area.

Shower

And we love our vanity! We all had to try out the sinks when we first looked at the house.

It's a little strange to have a closet in the bathroom like this, but I'm happy for the extra storage. There are also some shelves that I use as the linen closet.

Off our bedroom is our office. We have divided it up into two sections: the office and the man cave. But I can't show you that room yet, because it's a disaster. I will post some outside pictures later.

Alexander on Grover Airplane

This is hilarious! Bob took a video on Thanksgiving of Alexander riding the Grover airplane roller coaster. He screams only because other people are screaming. He wasn't frightened at all. At the end, he says, "I want to do it again with Glenny." :) Enjoy!

Our New House

We have moved in! We finally closed on Wednesday afternoon. We are slowly getting boxes unpacked and it's looking less like a mess and more like a home. We got Glenn's room all set up today and he was so happy. He says he has an office in his room just like Mommy and Daddy since he has a nice desk. We still have to get him a monitor since his broke. So, he's still using our computers (need a new monitor fast!). He had his first day of school on Friday and loved it. He said he likes his teacher and he followed directions and it was awesome. I'm so happy to hear he loves his new school. I am meeting with his teacher tomorrow, because I feel like we just threw him in there without any preparations. He's excited to go back tomorrow, but his brother is sad that Glenn will be at school. He loves his big brother.

We went to Light Up Ocala last, yesterday. They had a parade and the boys got to see Santa (in a truck with a bucket that goes up- Santa was in the bucket- I almost missed him). The festival was like a mini fair, only you didn't have to pay to get in. It had bounce houses (of course they had to do that), crafts (people selling them and crafts kids to make), music, fair food, and collies that played soccer. We got there for the parade, so we missed the lighting of the tree. We didn't want to just sit there for an hour and a half, and figured we could go by there some other night. I'm not ready for it to be Christmas, yet, anyway.

We now have hot water (our gas was turned off a half hour before I called to switch it to our name- go figure) now and internet (so happy to have an office with internet again). And we tried to get local stations, but apparently there aren't any around her, so our cable is getting hooked up tomorrow. At least we've accomplished a lot around the house since we didn't have tv to watch.

I think we are going to go to Busch Gardens on Thanksgiving and then have our Thanksgiving dinner on Friday. We're looking forward to seeing it all decorated for Christmas. This will probably be our last time on our tickets.

Well, since I know you thought you'd get to see pictures of the house when you saw the title of this post, I thought I'd give you a sneak peak. These pictures are from the listing. I'm not taking pictures of the inside until we get everything unpacked.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
